For those who are unversed, let us tell you, Australia has opted a young off-spinner, Murphy, to partner in the opening Test series which is being held in Nagpur, India.
If you’re unaware, let us make it clear, the 22-year-old got his first Test cap for Australia against the host nation during the series of Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Wednesday. The match was held at the VCA stadium in Nagpur.

Who’s Todd Murphy?
For those who are curious about the youngster, let us tell you, Todd, was born in Echuca, Victoria, Australia on November 15, 2000. The 22 year old has a height of 5 feet 10 inches. His father is Jamie Murphy.
He made his A List debut back in March 2021, for team Victoria in 2020-21 during the Marsh One-Day Cup.
Before his A List debut, Murphy was named in the squad of u-19 Cricket World Cup.
The Australian cricketer made his first class debut on April 3, 2021 for Victoria in the 2020-21 Sheffield Shield season.
The left hand batter made his T20 debut on December 26, 2021 for the Sydney Sixers in the 2021–22 Big Bash League season.
During his time with Victoria, he has scalped a total of 29 wickets at 25.20 from 10 first class matches. He was named as the first bowler to strike for his nation when he caught KL Rahul and bowled on 20.
Since last year, Todd has been pursuing a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science as well as Bachelor of Business specializing in Sport Management at Deakin University.
When he was selected as the member of the Australian test squad for India’s tour, apart from him four spinners were selected including Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar, and Mitchell Swepson.
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, the 22-year-old cricketer made his Test debut in Australia’s first test against India.
So far, the Echuca native has played for a number of teams like Australia U19, Victoria, Sydney Sixers, and Australia A.
He is currently single and unmarried.
