On March 2, 1963, Anthony who comes from a Catholic background was born in St Margaret’s Hospital in the Darlinghurst neighbourhood of Sydney with his height standing at 5 feet 10 inches. Mr.Albanese and Maryanne Ellery (1936–2002) are his parents. His father was from Barletta in Apulia, Italy, and his mother was Australian. His father was a steward on the Sitmar Line’s TSS Fairsky when they first met in March 1962 while traveling from Sydney to Southampton, England. Anthony was raised by a single mother in public housing in Sydney’s inner west.
Albanese went to Camperdown’s St. Joseph’s Primary School before enrolling at St. Mary’s Cathedral College.
Albanese married Carmel Tebbutt, who would go on to become the Deputy Premier of New South Wales, in 2000. They have one son together, age 23 Nathan and had first met in Young Labor in the late 1980s. In January 2019, the two parted ways.
After proposing to his current fiancee Jodie Haydon at The Lodge in Canberra, Albanese announced his engagement in February 2024, becoming Australia’s first prime minister to get engaged while in office. Anthony’s current net worth stands at $14.7 million.
Growing up on NSW’s Central Coast, Jodie is the daughter and granddaughter of school teachers but dropped out of university to pursue her career in the superannuation industry and in February 2022, the 47-year-old took on a new role as the NSW Public Service Association’s women’s officer.

Following the building of Sydney Airport’s third runway, airplane noise became a major political issue, and the newly formed No airplane Noise party (NAN) performed well in the local area during the 1995 New South Wales election, making the campaign challenging.
Albanese’s nomination as the Rudd ministry’s Leader of the House, Minister for Regional Development and Local Government, and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport demonstrated his growing stature within the party after Labor won the 2007 election.
Albanese Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Shadow Minister for Tourism were named by Shorten in October 2013, just after the leadership election, and he served in both capacities during Shorten’s tenure. Leading the Labor Party into the federal election of 2022 was Albanese.
