Who Is James Baker?

James Baker is a well-known American attorney. He has been in the news because he was sacked from the post of Twitter’s general counsel.

He served as James Comey’s director and as general counsel of the FBI. He played a significant role in the bureau’s investigation into erroneous allegations of collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

While employed by the FBI, Baker collaborated with agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, both of whom had a strong anti-Trump stance. He was under criminal investigation when he left since it was claimed that he had given information to the media.

He recently made headlines for his role as Special Counsel John Durham’s star witness in the prosecution of former Hillary Clinton attorney Michael Sussmann. The latter was cleared of lying to the FBI in May.

James Baker was chosen by Twitter to head their legal department in 2020. The firm was criticized at the time for stirring up controversy by classifying two Trump tweets as spreading false information because they implied that mail-in votes would result in a “rigged election.”

However, he was recently fired from his position.
