Samuel โSamuโ Omorodion Aghehowa is a Spanish professional footballer who was born on May 5, 2004, in Melilla, Spain. He was born in Melilla to Nigerian parents, and eventually moved to Seville at a young age. He currently plays as a forward for La Liga club Atlรฉtico Madrid.

Career and stats
Samu Omorodion started out playing for local side AD Nerviรณn, before joining Granadaโs youth setup in 2021. He made his senior debut for Granada’s reserve team, Recreativo Granada, on March 6, 2022. Omorodion came on as a second-half substitute during a 2โ1 league home loss to Marchamalo.
Omorodion scored his first senior goal on September 25, during a 1-1 draw against El Ejido. He eventually renewed his contract with Granada on April 20, 2023 up until 2028. During the 2022โ23 season, the forward scored 18 goals for Granada’s B team and attracted interest from various La Liga and Premier League clubs. The young striker eventually made his first team and La Liga debut on August 14, 2023, and scored the equalizer during a 3โ1 away loss against Atlรฉtico Madrid.
Interestingly, just a week later, Omorodion officially joined Atlรฉtico Madrid on a permanent deal on August 21, 2023. He joined the club on a five-year contract. However, he spent the last season out on loan at Deportivo Alavรฉs, which is also in the Spanish first division. During the 2023-24 season, Samu Omorodion was the top scorer for his Atletico in La Liga, scoring 8 goals in total.
On the International level, Omorodion is eligible to play for either Nigeria or Spain. Back in April 2023, Omorodion received his first call-up to the Spanish under-19 national football team. Later in July, he played in the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Malta.
