Another footballer has accused Spanish fans of racism. This time, it’s Nico Williams. The Spanish winger asked referee Juan Martinez to stop the match at Estadio Civitas Metropolitano halfway through the first half.
Shortly after, he scored a goal and patted his arm to show the colour of his skin in celebration. He told Dazn that he “heard monkey noises.” He further said, “There weren’t many of them. There are stupid people everywhere… I hope this changes bit by bit.”
Nico further stated that it made him angry and it shouldn’t be “normal” to mock someone for thier colour.
