At the age of 14, Singh travelled to Bangalore to train at the Anju Bobby George Sports Foundation. Under the Georges’ direction, Singh began his training.

Shaili Singh is the Under-18 category’s top-ranked long jumper in the world and the junior Indian national long jump champion in age group classifications. In the Under-18 division, she currently owns the long jump national record.

Singh competed in the U-16 long jump section of the Junior National Athletics Championship in Ranchi in 2018 and took home the gold medal. A year later, in 2019, she jumped 6.15 metres higher than her previous best in the Under-18 division, winning the gold medal at the junior national athletics competition in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Shaili won the long jump competition at the senior athletic championships (National Inter-state) held in Patiala in June 2021 while still a junior by clearing 6.48 metres, breaking the U20 record. At the 2021 World Athletic U20 Championships, Shaili leapt 6.59 metres to win the silver medal in long jump.
