Cooper recently made national headlines following his remarkable second-place finish in the Men’s 800m final at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Besides winning a silver medal, he set a new record time of 1:42.27, breaking the Under-19 world record. Cooper surpassed the previous time set by Kenya’s Timothy Kitum at the 2012 London Olympics.

Notably, Cooper started in seventh place and with just 200 meters to go, he surged past with a powerful kick, narrowly missing gold by just 0.11 seconds to Donavan Brazier. His performance has also helped him qualify to represent Team USA at the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo.
