Charles Marc S. De Ketelaere who wears the number 17 jersey is a Belgian professional footballer who was born on March 10, 2001, in Bruges, Belgium. He is currently just 23 years old and plays as an attacking midfielder or forward for Serie A club Atalanta. Charles is also a part of the Belgium national team.
Charles De Ketelaere was born to his mother, Isabelle De Cuyper and father, Francis De Ketelaere.

De Ketelaere initially started out his career with Club Brugge, aged seven, as a ball boy. During his youth, he also played a lot of tennis but eventually chose to pursue football. The Belgian midfielder eventually made his senior debut on September 25, 2019 during the 2019-20 Belgian Cup matchup against Francs Borains.
The following month, on October 22, 2019, he made his UEFA Champions League debut against Paris Saint-Germain. Charles De Ketelaere then scored his first senior goal for the club during their 2-1 win against Zulte Waregem on February 5, 2020, to reach the Belgian Cup final. Following his initial success at Brugge, De Ketelaere eventually joined Serie A club AC Milan on August 2, 2022. He joined the club on a contract that runs till June 30, 2027, for a reported fee of €35 million. However, De Ketelaere failed to score any goals throughout the entire season and made just nine league starts.
The following year, on August 16, 2023, Atalanta signed De Ketelaere on a loan move with an option to buy. De Ketelaere found huge success at the club after coming off the bench during Atalanta’s Serie A match against Sassuolo and scoring his debut Serie A goal. He then scored his first European Championship goal during a UEFA Europa League group stage match against Raków Częstochowa. Altogether, Charles De Ketelaere managed to score 14 goals and bagged 11 assists across all competitions during his debut season. Following his success at the club, he joined on a permanent basis on June 15, 2024. He has currently scored 4 goals and bagged 9 assists across 18 games this season.
International career
Charles De Ketelaere made his international debut for the Belgian senior squad in November 2020. He first featured as a substitute during a loss against Switzerland during the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League. De Ketelaere eventually scored his first international goal on October 10, 2021, in the third-place playoff match loss to Italy.
