A CCTV video depicting a car chase between the cow vigilantes and the Class 12 student they are accused of killing in Faridabad, Haryana, has gone viral. Aryan Mishra, the student, was misidentified by the cow vigilantes as a livestock smuggler.
Media recovered a CCTV footage from the Gadpuri toll plaza on the Agra-Delhi expressway, showing Aryan Mishra and his friends Shanky and Harshit riding in a red SUV. The CCTV footage was captured on August 24, at about three in the morning.

Subsequently, Aryan and his companions are observed hurriedly traversing the toll plaza, with the five accused individuals trailing them in a white hatchback. Aryan who was aged 19 lived in Faridabad, Haryana and was in the 12th class. He was a Brahmin Hindu.
Mishra was killed when the vigilantes opened fire on the car a short while later. The suspects admitted during questioning that they had learned that some suspected cattle smugglers driving two SUVs were doing reconnaissance in the city.
A senior police officer was cited as saying that they followed the car of those cattle smugglers for around thirty kilometres close to the Gadhpuri toll on the Delhi-Agra National Highway, mistaking the victim, Aryan Mishra, and his friends for them.
The accused informed the police that when they urged the victim’s car to halt, the driver accelerated. As a result, they opened fire, killing Mishra on the spot at the Gadhpuri toll in Palwal.

There were four individuals in the car besides Aryan. Sujata (45) and her friend Kirti (49), his sons Shanky (26), and Harshit Gulati (23). The police claimed that Kaushik’s organization had been tipped off about the smuggling of beef via SUVs.
Within Bajrang Dal circles, the incident has caused shockwaves. According to a member in charge of “cow protection” operations in Palwal and Faridabad, all “gau rakshaks” have been instructed to notify the police immediately upon noticing any suspicious conduct or receiving a tip, rather than trying to enforce the law on their own.

In an interview with a news agency, Aryan’s father Siyanand Mishra questioned what gave the cow vigilantes the authority to shoot someone.
He said, I asked Kaushik, โWhy would you kill a Muslim? Only because of a cow? You could have shot at the car wheel or called the police. Why take the law in your own hands?โ Kaushik didnโt have any response
Aryan Mishra had stepped out to eat noodles.
He was a class 12th student.
He was chased for 25-30 km by a cow vigilante gang.
