Amidst the world’s festivities around International Women’s Day, a quiet town in Bongaigaon, Mahabirstan, was rocked by a sad revelation. The dead body of a young female student named Arti Kumari Das was discovered close to the New Bongaigaon train market.

Since the girl vanished on 5th March 2024, there have been growing worries and sorrows throughout the neighborhood and beyond. The distressed family took to social media and posted a sincere need for information about their daughter Arti, who had gone missing. The family gave a detailed description of her and important details to help in the search.
Sadly, despite their best efforts, expectations were dashed when Arti’s body was found tragically close to the Dangtal Railway Market. The incident prompted an outpouring of grief within the family and the local community.

Though the family registered a formal FIR at the Bongaigaon police station and filed a missing person report on 6th March, their worst fears came true. The sudden death of Arti Kumari Das is still shrouded in mystery, so much so that the local police have begun an extensive inquiry.
However, according to reports, Sarfaraz Hussain was the subject of a prior complaint from the family against him for allegedly having a romantic relationship with Arti. Although Hussain was placed under arrest, there is yet no solid proof connecting him to Arti’s disappearance and eventual demise with reports refuting the claims of him being Arti’s lover amidst claims by the family of Sarfaraz having r*ped and murdered her.

Arti Kumari Das was a 16-year-old girl from the tranquil locality of Mahabirstan in Bongaigaon, Assam. She has been in the news because her dead body was discovered on a Friday night close to the New Bongaigaon rail market.

Since Arti had not been seen or heard from since March 5, 2024, her family became concerned and posted a missing person’s report on social media. Her father, Sri Jagannath Kumar Das, residing at North West Colony in Bongaigaon, shared details about Arti to aid in the search, including her physical description and the clothing she was last seen wearing.
However, her lifeless body was discovered recently and the local police have launched a thorough inquiry. Although the reasons behind Arti’s sudden death are still unknown, police have arrested Sarfaraz Hussain in connection to it. However, according to claims made by the family, she was r*ped and then murdered.
Aarti’s family alleges that Sarfaraz Hussain seduced their daughter, held her hostage, r*ped her and then brutally murdered her and threw her body on the side of the railway track.
At the time of her death, Arti was just 16 years old.
