Hardman Keane was unharmed but a bit shaken by the incident, which supposedly shattered Law’s nose. Witnesses reported seeing blood on the West Stand floor of the Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. Alejandro Garnacho’s 88th-minute goal appeared to put Manchester United ahead, but it was swiftly ruled out for offside, leaving Law furious as Red Devils icon Keane cheered from the punditry studio.

Scott ran to the concourse, saw Keane, and gave him a headbutt, but he just hurt himself more by hitting his shoulder. In the altercation, Scot broke his nose but Keane appeared to be only slightly harmed and rattled up.

Law was detained and released on bail

A £2,500 hospitality season ticket holder, who is a friend of Law claims Keane insulted the spectators. Keane allegedly came to the pitchside to analyze Arsenal’s 3-1 triumph when he was attacked. Yesterday, a video that was posted on social media showed Micah Richards, a fellow Sky analyst, separating Law from Keane.

Before Law left the scene, Keane was heard requesting the stewards to call the police. Officials from Arsenal are believed to have identified him through digital ticket transactions and given police his name and home. Law was taken into custody yesterday on suspicion of ABH and is from Waltham Abbey, Essex. He is believed to have been released on bond after a short time in detention.

Sky Sports commentators were left shaken

According to sources, Micah Richards, 35, an ex-Man City defender, and former Republic of Ireland midfielder Keane, both 35, were shaken by the event but continued with their matchday duties. Since meeting through punditry, the two have developed a strong connection off the field and have appeared in a number of spin-off shows together.

For the remainder of the year, Sky Sports will evaluate its presenters’ and analysts’ security procedures. Keane, who had an altercation with former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira in the tunnel at Highbury’s old stadium in 2005, returned to Hale, Cheshire, with his family yesterday. He was photographed walking his two dogs, but he remained silent and hid his face from the cameras.

While recording The Rest is Football podcast with Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer yesterday, Richards too briefly discussed the incident.
