Bhajan Kaur is a young and upcoming archer who was born on August 26, 2005, in Ellenabad, Sirsa, Haryana, India. She gained prominence after winning the bronze medal in the women’s team recurve event at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022. Bhajan was born to an Indian farmer named Bhagwan Singh and his wife who is a homemaker. She has two siblings, a brother and sister.

Bhajan School attended the Nachiketan Public School, in Ellenabad, Haryana, and later attended the Chandigarh University, in Ajitgarh, Punjab.

Career
Bhajan Kaur started off her journey as an archer during the 8th grade. Upon impressing her teacher at her first try, Kaur eventually started taking up archery seriously. She shared how her parents were initially reluctant due to their family’s financial condition.
However, her father eventually took up loans to buy her a kit worth Rs. 25,000. Back in 2019, Kaur bagged a gold medal in the team event at the National Games and won a gold medal in the team event during the 2020 edition of the event as well. That same year she took part in the National Games in Maharashtra and won gold in the team event. She also won a silver in the individual event.
Kaur also won a gold in the individual event in 2020 during the National Games in Jharkhand. At the start of 2022, Kaur won gold in the team event in the National Championship held in Alwar. She also won a silver in the mixed team event and a gold in the individual event.
After winning several achievements at the national level, she represented India at the 2022 Asia Cup in Iraq where she won a gold and two silver medals. The following year, in April 2023, she reached the semi-finals of the Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey. By June 2023, she featured on the top 10 list at the Archery World Cup Stage 3, in Medellin, Colombia.
Bhajan Kaur also won a bronze medal in the World Archery Youth Championships July 2023. More recently Kaur won a gold in the final Olympic qualifier at Anatalya, Turkey on June 16, 2024. She will now represent India at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games at Paris.
