Antonio Pintus has had a very successful career throughout the years, having worked for top football clubs like Chelsea, West Ham, and Sunderland in England, Monaco and Marseille in France, Udinese, Juventus, Palermo, and Inter Milan in Italy. He started out his career as a fitness coach in Juventus in 1991, after leaving his job as a teacher at a Catholic school. Pintus has since gone to work across several clubs and leagues.
The veteran fitness coach started his Real Madrid journey in 2016, when he arrived from Lyon after Zidane appointed him. When Zidane left in 2018, Julen Lopetegui came in and brought his own staff. Pintus remained on the payroll and after Lopeteguiās dismissal, Santiago Solari came in 138 days later. Pintus soon left to join Antonio Conte at Inter Milan. Following Ancelottiās return to Real Madrid, he suggested the appointment of Pintus, and president Florentino Perez himself called up Pintus. He has ever since remained one of the most important figures on head coach Carlo Ancelottiās staff.

Pintus lays a lot of importance to technology and data analysis in his methodology. The Italian fitness coach used a special mask this pre-season that helps staff judge the physical condition of players. The mask helps record and analyse the playersā oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. Using the data from the masks, personalize their training programmes.
Pintus also uses aerobic preparation for early pre-season training, and players often do a lot of long runs. Following which the focus shifts towards shorter and more explosive efforts as the sessions advance. He also incorporates strength training and closely monitors playersā weights. Aside from his work in football, Antonio Pintus is an accomplished runner, and he was a middle-distance runner at the national level. Back in 2013, he finished 24th in the half marathon at the World Masters and earlier this year in April, he ran the Madrid Marathon in just three hours, 48 minutes, and 31 seconds. Pintus is also an accomplished skier, and back in 2003, during his time at Monaco, he went on a seven-day expedition to the Svalbard Islands, which is a Norwegian archipelago located within the Arctic Circle.
