Dhivya Sashidhar attended Trichy’s NIT. She met Prasanna there, and the two eventually got married after falling in love. She is reportedly a citizen of the United States. Despite regularly visiting India, she has apparently lived in the United States for a sizable period of her life. She has recently drawn notice because of her well-publicized divorce and custody dispute. She and Prasanna Sankar have a nine-year-old kid.
Prasanna accused Divya of having an affair with a man named Anoop Kuttysankaran for more than six months, which reportedly led to the couple’s divorce. He offered screenshots of texts he said were from Anoop’s wife about c*ndoms and hotel reservations as evidence.
He said Anoop’s wife had sent him the screenshots with the details of their hotel bookings.
Born and brought up in Chennai, Prasanna met his wife while studying at NIT Trichy and they had been married for 10 years and have a nine-year-old son, Amar.
“Me and my wife, Dhivya, were married for 10 years and we have a 9-year-old son. Recently our marriage broke down after I discovered she was having an affair, with a person named Anoop for 6+ mos,” he wrote on X. “Anoop’s wife sent me the message my wife had sent Anoop and hotel bookings she made for him.”
While not much is known about Anoop or his wife at the moment, he had asked Dhivya to purchase XL c*ndoms for them in Singapore, detailing how they could be found in Watsons in Orchard Road. He had also talked about deleting the message and shared a slew of Instagram reels with Dhivya who he was having an affair with.

Additionally, they inked an MOU in which Prasanna committed to providing financial support of Rs 9 crore and Rs 4.3 lakh per month. They agreed to divide custody of their son 50/50.
Sankar further claimed that police have been unlawfully monitoring his IP address, automobile, UPI transactions, and cell phone location without filing a formal complaint against him because his wife made false accusations against him.

“People say that children grow up in a similar way as their parents. My father-in-law has also indulged in s*xual offences. He abused my mother-in-law and chased her away from home. Now I am in need of desperate help from Chennai police. Please help,” Divya pleaded in her testimony.
Prasanna Sankar’s response
According to Prasanna Sankar, Dhivya sought millions of dollars as part of the divorce settlement before accusing him in Singapore of r*pe, domestic abuse, and releasing private films. He claims that after an inquiry, Singaporean officials rejected all of these claims.

When Prasanna accused Divya of unlawfully bringing their son to the United States, the custody dispute intensified. He responded by filing a case in a U.S. court alleging international child kidnapping. The couple signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to resolve the conflict, and Prasanna committed to paying ₹4.3 lakh in child support each month and ₹9 crores as a settlement.
