Marcel Marceau hails from Strasbourg, France and was born on 22nd March 1923. During his early career years, he got married to his first wife Huguette Mallet with whom he had two kids.
They both were together when Marcel Marceau established the Compagnie de Mime Marcel Marceau, which was the only pantomime company all across the world. Marceau established his company in late 1949 in order for developing a specific art of the silence.
Marcel Marceau’s second wife
Marcel has been married thrice, throughout his life. After getting separated from Huguette Mallet, Marceau got married to Elzbieta “Ella” Jaroszewicz. Marcel Marceau’s second wife Elzbieta “Ella” Jaroszewicz was a French-Polish choreographer and also a mime artist.
They crossed each other’s paths when Marcel was returning back to France after performing in Russia. The late mime artist stopped in Wroclaw, Poland and further visited Henryk Tomaszewski’s company which is in Pantomima.
Jaroszewicz missed Marceau’s visit, as she was in hospital and was being treated for her problem of appendicitis. Upon hearing from a company person that was unwell, Marcel Marceau sent flowers to his future wife.
They both met for the first time when Pantomima was invited to the Festival of the Nations which was held in Paris, at the Sarah Bernhardt Theater.
