Who Is Anjali Kulthe?
Anjali Kulthe is an Indian nurse and is well-known for being a victim of the 26/11 attacks. She has been in the news because she recently gave a statement at UNSC about her horrific experience.
When the 26/11 attack shocked the whole country, Anjali worked the night shift from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. at the ante-natal care unit, where 20 pregnant women were scheduled for delivery.
But as soon as two terrorists—among them Ajmal Kasab—entered the hospital grounds, the night took a sharp turn. They wounded a nurse and shot two guards, leaving them lying in a pool of blood at the entryway.
As they ascended to the first level, Anjali Kulthe went into action and slammed the ward’s massive double doors shut, protecting the space from danger.
She transported the injured nurse to the trauma ward while relocating the 20 pregnant ladies and some of their family members to the pantry at the opposite end of the room. She then phoned the on-call physician to inform the police.
She is currently 50 years old.
