The 20 year old victim Anjali Singh worked part-time for an event management firm. After her father passed away last year, she supported her family and paid for her mother’s dialysis. Her job required her to put in late hours, and on Sunday she had been out for the same.

She has a married sister. Her two further sisters, two brothers, and herself were her only sources of support. She informed her mother that she would return home between two and three in the morning on Sunday, like she did every day. But what transpired in the interim left her family with lifelong scars.

Her Mother’s Statement On Her Daughter’s Death

“She informed me she was going to an event and would return late when she used to work at an event management firm.” Her mother remarked, “I was waiting for her.” She remembered having her daughter’s final talk around nine o’clock in the evening. “My daughter promised to come home soon.”

“I even contacted her around 10:30 a.m., but after that, it was impossible to get through to her.”

Victims Mother Plea Went in Vein

The next morning, a car was sent to pick her up. Then she was taken to the Sultanpuri Police Station, where she repeated begging for her daughter but never received a good response.

Locals demonstrated outside the Sultanpuri Police Station on Monday as the story made headlines, calling for justice for the victim. The woman’s mother said that the police were “simply trying to make it appear like an accident,” and that they had not done nearly enough.

In the wake of the event, five males driving a Maruti Baleno were detained. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora stated that the police are supporting the family during this difficult time.

As the day went on, a video purportedly showing the lady naked and with her legs broken circulated on social media.

The Family Was Not Allowed To See The Dead Body Of Their Daughter

Her aunt said, “Our girl had an accident, the police told us when they called. All those who are accountable for her demise must be put to death. They must be punished since they caused her family great harm.”

According to sources, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V. K. Saxena has directed officials to investigate the possibility of offering a government post as compensation to any member of the victim’s family.

CCTV Footage

According to the latest CCTV footage, while the victim left, one more girl was with her on her scooter. When she discovered danger, the friend is said to have fled the scene. There were five men in the car, some of whom were heavily inebriated and claimed not to have noticed the girl who had been stuck below the car for 12 kilometres.

It has been said that Anjali’s friend received minor injuries in the crash and she fled the scene and the investigators said Anjali’s leg got stuck in the car’s wheel. She was not sexually assaulted as per the autopsy. Anjali does not have an Instagram profile.
