The issue reportedly began when Carlos decided to leave home and settle in Manila with his girlfriend, a decision that didn’t sit well with his mother.
While initially, this was believed to be the main cause of their conflict, however, recently Carlos came forward and revealed in a TikTok video that the situation is more complex than anyone can think.
What Did Carlos Yulo Say?
Taking to the video-sharing platform TikTok, Carlos Yulo accused his mother of withdrawing money from his bank account without his knowledge.
He explained that his mother had control of his bank account, which held his earnings from the gymnastics competitions and that she has been withdrawing money without his knowledge.
He further revealed that he was due to receive a 6-figure incentive from a World championships 2022, which his mother never revealed about receiving. In his statement, he said, he didn’t received 70,000 pesos approximately $1,221, “I know it was a six-digit amount because I won two medals.”

He further emphasized that the issue wasn’t about the money but the fact that the incentives were hidden and used without his consent.
What Did Angelica Yulo Say?
Defending herself, Angelica Yulo denied these allegations and claimed that she transferred the money to her own account for her son’s future security. She furthermore emphasized that she never took any money for personal use.
Meanwhile, the mother-son duo has accepted that the tension between the two is due to his girlfriend Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose, as Carlos said his mother didn’t approve of Jose’s behavior and appearance as she found it to be odd with Filipino culture.
Despite the ongoing conflict, after the Olympic win, Carlos Yulo, called for peace and reconciliation, asking his mother to move on. Meanwhile, his father, Mark, also came forward and expressed that they hope for reconciliation when their son returns from Paris.
