During Conteโs absence, Spur endured a disappointing interim spell with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason’s caretaker role.
Tottenham Hotspurs appoint Ange Postecoglou as new manager
Postecoglou who was managing Celtic before the new role secured a second successive Scottish Premiership title this season. It was Celtic’s fifth domestic treble in seven seasons. The 57-year-old has impressed everyone in Scottish football world helping his side secure six domestic trophies in just two years.
Prior to the appointment, Postecoglou was linked with a handful of Premier League jobs like Leeds United and Leicester City over recent months. However, after previous target Arne Slot decided to commit to Feyenoord, Spurs quickly turned their attentions towards Postecoglou.
Spurs ultimately decided to go with Postecoglou due to his expansive and attacking style at Celtic. The club has so far gone for more defensive-minded coaches over the years, and they are looking for a change.
Ange Postecoglou Tottenham contract length
Postecoglou has signed a new four-year contract with Tottenham, which will officially begin on July 1, 2023. The contract length shows how much the club are putting their faith on the new manager. Prior to the new role, the Australian has only worked on short-term and rolling contracts in Scotland.
Postecoglou first signed on a one-year rolling contract when he first joined Celtic in June 2021. Despite facing criticism, he hit the ground running and helped Celtic win the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Premiership in his debut season. He then repeated the same double in the recently concluded 2022/23 season and then added the Scottish Cup as well.

As of now, the exact details about Postecoglouโs salary and earnings at Tottenham havenโt been confirmed. However, Postecoglou will most definitely earn more than his pay at Celtic. Postecoglou reportedly earned around ยฃ2.2 million ($2.8m) per year with Celtic as of 2022/23.
