Andrew Flower OBE is a Zimbabwean cricket coach and former cricketer who was born on 28 April 1968 in Cape Town, South Africa. Andy is one of the greatest wicket-keeper-batters in cricket history. During his childhood, Andy attended the Oriel Boys’ High School and Vainona High School. When he was a player, he served as the captain of the Zimbabwe national cricket team. Following a successful player career, Flower started his coaching career, helping England secure two Ashes series wins, and the ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean.

Andy Flower joined the Zimbabwe national cricket team back in 23 February 1992, and established himself as one of its key players. He mostly played as a Wicket-keeper batsman and together with his brother Grant Flower, formed one of the best batting duos in Zimbabwe cricket.
Andy made his international debut in Test cricket on 18 October 1992, against India. He made his ODI debut the following year on 23 February 1992 against Sri Lanka. Aside from playing for the Zimbabwe national team, he played for Mashonaland and the Winstonians in domestic cricket. Following a successful playing career, Andy retired and started out a coaching career. He most notably, coached the England cricket team from 2009–2014.
