While attending Pennsylvania’s Blackhawk High School, Amy Miller and Sean Miller got to know one another. Sean Miller was the Blackhawk basketball team’s point guard, while Amy Miller was their cheerleader.
While she and Sean were living in North Carolina, where Sean was an assistant coach, Amy Miller jokingly dubbed herself “basketball widow.” Through her 1998 Twitter username, @abballwidow, this playful self-designation ultimately grew into internet renown.

Austin, Cameron, and Braden are the three sons of Sean and Amy Miller. Austin, the oldest, managed the Arizona Wildcats basketball team before graduating in 2018. In 2017, their middle son Cameron became a manager, following in his father’s footsteps. In 2016, Braden was a freshman on the junior varsity team and is currently pursuing a career in basketball.
