The claims have shocked FIFPRO, the organization that represents professional football players throughout the world. Taking to Twitter, FIFPRO wrote,
FIFPRO is shocked and sickened by reports that professional footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani faces execution in Iran after campaigning for womenโs rights and basic freedom in his country. We stand in solidarity with Amir and call for the immediate removal of his punishment.
Iran’s administration is presently under fire from international human rights organizations as a result of its brutal crackdown on widespread protests brought on by Mahsa Amini’s passing.
For the uninitiated, the 22-year-old died after beingย detained by the morality police for disobeying the nation’s clothing code.ย As a result of protests, a large number of demonstrators, andย some members of the security forces, have died.

Why Did Iran Want To Execute Him?
According to sources, Nasr-Azadani was found guilty of murdering two Basij members and Colonel Esmaeil Cheraghi on November 17 and was given the death penalty.
Additionally, it has been stated that on November 20, Nasr-Azadani read his confession while making an appearance on state television. Furthermore, it is said that Nasr-Azadani was not in the area when Cheraghi and the two Basij members were murdered.
