Elliot Onil Eastman was from Vermont. Eastman was shot in the leg while trying to flee before the attackers kidnapped him on a speedboat, according to the Philippine police.
In his earlier vlogs, Eastman discussed how he was “not liked” in his community, claiming that “they want bad things to happen” to him and that his family had been receiving threats to kidnap him.

Elliot Onil Eastman, an American from Vermont, was allegedly kidnapped in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte, after being shot.
He was already receiving Warning from the locals of death threat for days before he was kidnap.

A year and a half ago, age 26 American YouTuber Elliot Onil Eastman had travelled to the Philippines in order to marry a woman from Zamboanga City, who subsequently proved to be a fraudster. He eventually found love again after suffering a large financial loss, and he married a Sibuco woman approximately five months ago.
As one of the few foreigners living in what he called the “red zone” of the Philippines, Eastman had recently converted to Islam and operated a YouTube channel called ElliotBeastman, where he chronicled his existence.
It has been reported that four guys posing as police officers took Eastman away from his wife’s house by force. Suspicions were raised that the Jihadist extremist Abu Sayyaf group might be involved as witnesses reported that the attackers had M16 guns and fled swiftly in a speedboat.
The kidnappers escaped after local police started a chase by traveling south into the insurgent-prone districts of Sulu or Basilan. As they continue to look for Eastman and his captors, local authorities, who are looking into the situation as a possible kidnapping for ransom, have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Investigation
As it was revealed that the FBI was searching for Eastman, additional search operations were launched on October 18.
The YouTuber’s wife was also contacted by FBI investigators at their Philippine residence, according to Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9). The authorities highlighted that they work closely with local authorities as they conduct their search efforts when a US citizen goes missing, and they do everything they can to maintain communication with families.
