The recent charity fight comes ahead of Almeida’s fight against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 299 in Miami, Florida.

‘Malhadinho’ faced off with Borges at the CT de Boxe e Artes Marciais in Salvador, Brazil. Notably, the fight took place as a charity match hosted by Demo Fight, whose founder, Demistocles Brito, books such special matches out of love for one of his autistic nephews. Brito mainly aims to promote inclusivity within the sport through such events. During the fight, Borges showed exemplary skill in reversing positions numerous times.
In fact, he ended the fight in Round 2 after reversing positions and using an armbar to lock up Almeida. Following his triumphant victory, Alvaro celebrated with a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) replica belt around his waist. According to reports, Alvaro has a Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Team Passos Jiu-Jitsu, Sterling, Virginia. He is also associated with the Curio Gold Team and competes as a middleweight. Interestingly, Alvaro has one professional fight on his record, which was a submission loss to Adriano Freitas. The fight took place at Mega Fight Sao Paulo (Mega Fight 3) way back in 2006.
