Fede Valverde assaulted Alex Baena in the bus parking lot after repeatedly accusing the latter of using “weeping gestures” and remarking about miscarriages. Baena started phoning security for assistance as soon as he was attacked, according to EL PAIS Espana. He did, however, sustain a swelled cheekbone as a result of the trauma.
He expressed his views on the matter on Instagram: “Very happy with the impressive victory of the team on a stage like the Santiago Bernabéu, but at the same time very sad about the aggression I suffered after the match and surprised by what is being said about my person. IT IS TOTALLY FALSE THAT I SAID.”
When MARCA contacted Valverde’s group for comment, they responded that Fede has never had issues with anyone, and this is the result of something really terrible from the past.
