Actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Ratna collapsed at a political march. He was immediately admitted to the nearby hospital on the 27th of January and it was reported that Ratna had a cardiac arrest and he passed away recently. Details about Ratna’s family members are given below.

In early 2012, Nandamuri Taraka Ratna met Alekhya Reddy who is his wife while shooting an Indian movie named Daya. Alekhya was working as a costume designer in that movie, in which Ratna was having the lead role. They together worked again in the same year in a movie named Nandeeswarudu.
Apart from working in movies, Alekhya works as a fashion designer. The family did not agree to their marriage initially. In 2012 the duo got married in presence of friends at Sanghi Temple near Ramoji Film City. Some of their relatives attended their ceremony while some didn’t attend as they were against their wedding.
Nandamuri Ratna’s relationship with Reddy has been described as “nothing less than drama like a film.” They further added that it’s a “true love story. A tale of Romance, love, commitment, dedication, and companionship.
Cupid playing its part between Taraka Ratna and Alekhya Reddy turned the two foes, looking for the other’s pound of flesh, into distant relatives. Taraka Ratna was a grandson of the late NTR and thus the nephew of Chandrababu Naidu and Alekhya, on the other hand, is the daughter of the younger sister of Vijayasai Reddy’s wife.
The two first bumped into each other during the shooting of Taraka Ratna’s film Nandeeswarudu which was released in 2012 and Reddy worked for it as a costume designer. The film tanked at the box office like many of his previous flicks but its sets played the perfect host for his love affair with Alekhya to blossom and for Alekhya, it was a new lease of life, having already been married once and divorced due to incompatibility.
She was married to Sandeep Reddy, Nalgonda Zilla Parishad Chairman and, more significantly, the son of former Home Minister Aliminati Madhava Reddy and after their divorce, Alekhya pursued fashion designing which presented her with the chance to design costumes for Taraka Ratna’s film later.

The only confirmed name of their child is their daughter Nishka. Nishka was born in 2013 and she is 10 years old as of 2023. The duo reportedly had twins after Nishka. Alekhya Reddy was seen along with her children after the news of Ratna’s passing.

Tollywood fans pay tribute
A number of well-known fans of Taraka Ratna’s work have taken to the internet for paying tribute to the late actor Ratna. “A kind, always smiling, humble person… is no more with us. I miss u so much Tarak Bhayya… May u always be at peace in heaven,” the actor Nikhil Siddhartha stated.
Naga Babu Konidela, a fellow actor-politician, wrote about Ratna’s death, “A Good Soul gone too soon.”
