Against Al-Hilal on Monday, Inter Miami had a difficult first half. Michael lavished some style on himself after the Herons scored three goals in the first half. Just before the break, the Brazilian headed home to make it 3-1, and he quickly left to celebrate with a move that was all too familiar.

Who is Michael Delgado?

Brazilian professional football player Michael Richard Delgado de Oliveira, better known as Michael, was born on March 12, 1996 in Poxoréu, Brazil. The 27-year-old measures 1.66 m (5 ft 5 in). He now plays forward for Al Hilal, a Saudi Pro League team.

A look at Michael Delgado’s career

Michael began his playing career with his hometown team, Escolinha Diamante Verde, after being born in Poxoréu, Mato Grosso. He relocated to Goiania in 2012 after being turned down for trials at Atletico Goianiense, Goias, Vila Nova, and Goiania.

2015 saw Michael sign with Monte Cristo in the Campeonato Goiano’s third level after he had played for amateur team Euro Brasil. On August 29, that year, he started his senior debut in a 0–5 away loss against Caldas.

Before the Campeonato Goiano’s second division took place in 2016, Michael signed a deal with Goiânia. Originally designated for the under-20 squad, he was moved up to the main team. The game’s lone goal in a home victory over Evangélica on August 14 marked his first senior goal.

Michael debuted in the State League First Division with Goianesia on December 26, 2016. In a 5-1 home victory over Vila Nova on March 12, he scored a hat-trick as a regular starter.

Michael joined Goias in 2017 and he became a regular starter in 2018 season. Michael’s transfer to Flamengo for a reported €7.5 million was announced by Goiás on January 10, 2020.
