Indian film director Akhil Marar emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss Malayalam. He received a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs, a Maruti car, and a trophy. He was one of the best contestants in the competition. Thanks to his amusing avatars and clever game strategies, he became the centre of attention. He continued to make headlines, though, for his purported misogynist beliefs and anger management problems.
He predominantly works in Malayalam cinema and is known for his movie Oru Thathvika Avalokanam (2021).

Akhil Marar was born on September 7, 1988, in Kollam, Kerala. He was born into a Hindu family to Rajendran Pillai and Ammini Amma.

Akhil Marar married Rajalekshmi Akhil on January 1, 2015, and is a father to two daughters, Parkrithi and Prarthana.

Marar completed his schooling at CF High School, Kottiyam, Kerala, and S.V.M.M.H.S.S. Vendar, Kerala. He did his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Fatima Mata College, Kollam.
Akhil Marar’s Career
After completing his bachelor’s degree, Akhil started working as a representative for a medical company. Later, he switched to another medical company as an area manager. However, he decided to quit his job due to his breakup with his then-girlfriend.
He then tried his hand at the juice kiosk, Alchemist, at Kottathala, Kollam District, Kerala. Apart from this, he worked as an agriculturist and practised cultivation on his home’s terrace in Kerela.
Akhil Marar’s Directorial Career
With the Malayalam movie Perariyathavar, Marar first made his directorial debut as an assistant director in 2015.
In 2021, he came to the limelight with his biggest directorial Malayalam film, Oru Thathvika Avalokanam. The shoot was scheduled to be 40 days long, but he managed to complete it in 30 days. In this movie, he was removed from the editing table due to his arrogant and ungrateful behaviour.
