Following an argument sparked by comments on a social media post, a Thar SUV allegedly struck a young man in Kanchenjunga Market area of Noida near sector 53, resulting in a violent altercation.
Public outrage was sparked by the footage, which showed a guy being struck by the speeding SUV, bleeding from his forehead, and being slung into a drain. On Monday, a dispute between two groups that started online escalated into a physical brawl.

According to police investigations, Harola resident Akash Awana had been acquaintances with Noida Sector 48 property dealers Saurabh Yadav and his brother Sumit Yadav since 2017.
The attack was the culmination of a dispute between two groups of young mensparked by a message sent by one man to the female friend of another. “We found that one man, Akash Awana, messaged the female friend of Ayush, which led to a heated argument between them over the phone,” said a police officer. Ayush then challenged Akash to meet and settle the issue in person with both Saurabh and Sumit joining him along.
The two groups decided to meet around 4pm on Monday near Jalvayu Vihar in Sector 53 and Ayush was accompanied by brothers Saurabh and Sumit Yadav, both residents of Noida’s Sector 49. Akash meanwhile arrived with a much larger group, around 15 to 20 men in five to six vehicles.
An altercation preceded the clash near Kanchenjunga Market. Three people in their 20s, Aman Awana, Gaurav Chauhan, and Kunal Chauhan, joined Akash in a Thar SUV. The complaint claims that Saurabh and Sumit, two brothers, were attacked by four defendants. Akash who was driving the Thar allegedly threw Saurabh three feet into a drain after ramming his Thar into him from behind when he attempted to protect himself with a brick.
Sector 27’s Kailash Hospital is where he is receiving treatment. Police are looking for the fugitive culprit, according to ADCP Noida Sumit Kumar Shukla, who also acknowledged a formal complaint for assault and attempted murder. While the black Thar has been seized and a SHO suspended, the culprits are still on the run.
The victim, Saurabh Yadav, was seen in the 28-second clip limping away from the scene, bloodied and carrying a brick in one hand, when the vehicle hit him and the video was recorded by his brother, Sumit Yadav, and later verified by the police after they went to the Sector 24 Police Station to file their complaint.
Investigation
Four men were booked for attempt to commit culpable homicide after a video surfaced showing a black Mahindra Thar SUV mowing down the 25-year-old man during a violent street brawl in Noida’s Sector 53.
For reckless and careless driving, inflicting harm, and criminal intimidation, police have filed a case under the appropriate laws. To find the fugitive driver, a special team has also been established.
“There was a dispute between the two parties under the police station Sector-24 area to comment on the social media platform. Both sides are familiar with each other,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, Sumit Kumar Shukla told media.
ADCP Shukla further told the media, “A police team has been formed for the arrest of the accused, registering the prosecution under the relevant sections by the police station Sector-24.”
