Brian Ebenezer Adjei Brobbey is a Dutch professional footballer who was born on February 1, 2002, in Amsterdam, Netherlands while both of his parents are from Ghana. He currently plays as a striker for Eredivisie club Ajax as well as the Netherlands men’s national senior team. Brian is the youngest of four siblings, with three older brothers – Samuel Brobbey, Derrick Luckassen, and Kevin Luckassen. Notably, all of his three brothers are all professional footballers.

Club career
Brian Brobbey started out his youth career with AFC before eventually going on to join the Ajax academy back in 2010. Brobbey eventually made his Ajax debut in the Eredivisie back on October 31, 2020. He came on as a substitute before going on to score during a 5-2 victory over Fortuna Sittard. Brobbey then made his European debut against Atalanta during the group stage of the 2020 UEFA Champions League.
However, Brobbey eventually left the club after his contract expired at the end of the season. He eventually signed for RB Leipzig after signing for them on March 12, 2021, and joined them on July 1, 2021. However, later that same year on December 27, 2021, he made a return to Ajax on a six-month loan spell.
He made his first appearance the following year on January 16, 2022 during an away match against FC Utrecht. He scored two goals before getting subbed off in the 70th minute. Ajax eventually signed Brobbey on a five-year permanent deal on July 22, 2022, worth €16.35 million, plus €3 million in potential add ons. Brobbey scored a total of 14 goals across 44 appearances in all competitions that season.
International career
Brian Brobbey first represented the Netherlands U17 during the 2018 as well as 2019 editions of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He notably won both competitions with the side. He later featured in the preliminary squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, before receiving his first official call-up to the Netherlands senior national team for two UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier matches against France and Greece. Earlier this year, Brobbey featured in the Netherlands’ squad for UEFA Euro 2024 on May 29, 2024.
