Who’s Aiden Markram?
For those who are unfamiliar with the player, let us tell you, the new captain of the team whose full name is Aiden Kyle Markram was born in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa on October 4, 1994.
Prior to being selected as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Aiden captained the South African under-19 cricket team. He even led his team to win the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in 2014.
The 28-year-old player even emerged as the Man of the Match in the finals of U-19 World Cup after he scored 370 runs in the tournament. Later, he was awarded as the Man of Tournament.
Later, in 2018, he was named as one of the 5 cricketers of the year during the South African Cricket Annual. The player made his debut in September 2017.
Aiden is from a family which encouraged his passion of cricket to be taken up as a career option. He started playing cricket since he was 2 years old but he was also interested in soccer.
In 2014, he emerged as the top scorer. In September 2017, he made his international Test debut against Bangladesh. At the time he made a total of 97 runs and by the end of the year, he had scored two Test centuries.
