Embla Matilde Njerve, who turned 17, this year, was thrilled to represent her country this summer at the European U-18 competition not the Olympics!
Taking to Instagram, she revealed that it was “an experience that will never be forgotten,” while thanking all the staff and family for their “support.”

In her Instagram post, Matilde Njerve, wrote, “An honor to represent Norway in Slovakia. An experience that will not be forgotten.”

Born in 2007, Embla Matilde Njerve, is a Norwegian athlete who competes in pole vaulting for Bergen TF. She is the daughter of former triple jumper Sigurd Njerve, who was also a track and field athlete specializing in the triple jump.
In 2023, she secured a bronze at the European Youth Olympic Games and claimed gold in the 2024 indoor Norwegian championships. Njerve holds the pole vault record for 15-year-old girls with a height of 3.80 meters.
