The left-hander made his professional debut in 2020, a few months after he was picked to play for Afghanistan in the under-19 World Cup and in two games he made 19 and 40.

He has played 41 T20s, making 1,263 runs at a strike rate of 131.42 and in 22 List A games, he is averaging 29.18, and in 13 first-class matches he has made 652 runs.

Sediqullah Atal career

On September 7, 2020, Sediqullah Atal played his first Twenty20 match for Kabul Eagles in the 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League. He was included in Afghanistan’s 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup roster before making his Twenty20 debut. On October 17, 2021, he made his List A debut for the Band-e-Amir Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament.

Sediqullah was included in Afghanistan’s One Day International (ODI) team for their series against Pakistan in July 2021, however the series was subsequently postponed after the Taliban took control of the country. Both cricket boards agreed to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches in place of ODIs when the series was rescheduled on January 23, 2023.

For that series against Pakistan, Sediqullah was once more included in Afghanistan’s roster. On March 27, 2023, he made his T20I debut in the series’ third and last T20I encounter.

He was included in Afghanistan’s team for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup competition in May 2024 as a reserve player.
