Gunaratna Sadavarte and Jayashree Patil fell in love while still in college and later they got married. TJayshree Patil was born in Mahurgarh village and did her schooling there. Later she studied law in Aurangabad and LLM in Mumbai and has done PhD in Criminology. She is the daughter of Laxmanrao Kisanrao Patil.
He was educated in Sambhajinagar and Mumbai and a few years ago, Sadavarte came from Nanded and settled in Mumbai and started practicing law.
When the ‘Crystal Plaza’ building in Parel caught fire on August 22, 2018, Zane Sadavarte, Sadavarte’s 10-year-old daughter, bravely advised everyone in the building to take precautions. Smoke from the fire was filling the rooms and surrounding areas, so she asked the seventeen people who were waiting to wet their towels and use them as masks to breathe.
Despite the smoke, they all followed Zane’s advice and didn’t suffocate. It prevented 17 fatalities. The President gave Zane Sadavarte the National Bravery Award in recognition of this.

Gunaratna Sadavarte career
Maharashtra-born lawyer Gunaratna Sadavarte practises law. He attended the Bar Council summit and served as president of the BAR Association of MAT twice.
Within the ‘Socially and Educationally Backward (SEBC)’ category, the Maharashtra government granted reservation to the Maratha group in 2018. However, Sadavarte informed the Supreme Court that the reservation was unlawful and should not be granted.
A five-judge Supreme Court bench unanimously overturned the reservation granted to the Maratha group under the SEBC on May 5, 2021. The reservation granted to the Maratha community need to be revoked since it violates the constitution.
