Malayalam actor-producer Nivin Pauly has been named in a r*pe case, adding his name to the growing list of industry figures facing allegations in the wake of the Hema Committee report.
39-year-old Nivin Pauly has been named the sixth accused in a case filed under Section 376 (r*pe) of the Indian Penal Code at the Oonnukal police station. The complainant alleges that she was taken to Dubai under the pretext of auditioning for a film and was s*xually assaulted in a hotel room. In response to the allegations, Nivin Pauly held a press conference where he appeared calm and confident, vehemently denying the accusations.
Nivin Pauly and four others, including a woman have been accused of gang-r*pe and other charges following a complaint lodged by the survivor who alleged that she was s*xually abused in Dubai multiple times between Nov 1 and Dec 15 last year.

In Aluva, Ernakulam, on October 11, 1984, Nivin Pauly was born into a Syro Malabar Catholic family. He is 5ft 9in tall. Rinna Joy is the wife of Nivin Pauly. The couple is blessed with a daughter and a boy, Daveedh Pauly.
Pauly Bonaventure, Nivin’s father, and Thressiamma Pauly, his mother, were employed in Aarau, Switzerland. He attended the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Angamaly and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Through campus placements, Nivin worked as a software engineer at Infosys in Bangalore from 2006 until 2008. However, following his father’s passing, he resigned and went back home.

In 2014, he portrayed Rameshan in the coming-of-age sports film 1983, which was directed by Abrid Shine. His portrayal of Rameshan from his school days into maturity won him the Kerala State Film Awards’ Best Actor trophy in 2014. Nivin made appearances in Mili, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, and Ivide in 2015. He appears in the Rajesh Pillai film Mili as Naveen, a soft-skills trainer. Under Pauly Jr. Pictures, Nivin became a producer in 2016 with Action Hero Biju.
His films Varshangalkku Shesham (directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan) and Malayalee (directed by Dijo Jose Antony) were released in 2024. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, a Tamil film directed by Ram, is his upcoming release.
