On September 30, 2024, Broadway star Gavin Creel passed away at the age of 48. The theatre community is in mourning for this gifted actor, well known for his Tony Award-winning performance in Hello, Dolly! and his roles in Hair and Mary Poppins.
In addition to his partner Alex Temple Ward, he’s survived by his parents Nancy and James Creel, sisters Heather and Allyson. A private funeral will be held and a public memorial is planned in the future and gifts in his memory can kindly be made to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.

39-year-old Alex Temple Ward was born on June 15, 1985. Alex Temple Ward is engaged in the entertainment sector, having earned a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee.

He even mentioned a highlight in which he and Treston J. Henderson sang a duet. Even though Alex rarely posts pictures of himself with Gavin on Instagram and prefers to talk about his career rather than his personal life, a lot of people have expressed their admiration for the Broadway star loudly on social media.
