An ISIS terrorist, Abu Khaled al-Cambodi earlier known as Neil Prakash, is making headlines following his arrest as he was charged with terror offences in Australia.

As per reports, Abu Khaled was charged in Australia after he was extradited from Turkey. While many media reports in Australia revealing his arrest development, all of them all trying to create a fact that he is not a Muslim.

Most of the media outlets are using his former name Neil Prakash, which sounds like an Hindu Name. Though his original name was indeed Neil Prakash, however, he no longer used this name.

For those who are unaware, let us tell you, Neil was originally a Buddhist, later, he converted into Islam and adopted the name Abu Khaled al-Cambodi, referring to Cambodian roots.

Abu was born in Melbourne, Australia to an Indo-Fijian father and a Cambodian mother. As per the earlier reports, he converted to Islam in 2012 when he visited a friend, following after he went on and joined the terror group in 2014.

Ever since his conversion, he started using the name Abu Khaled al-Cambodi, however, following his arrest, some reasons all media outlets are using his old name.

Moreover, these reports doesn’t even mentioned that now the terrorist is known as Abu Khaled al-Cambodi. The outlets not even bothered to mention that Khaled was a Buddhist and converted to Islam before changing his name.

It does seems a deliberate attempt of media to suggest that the ISIS terrorist is not a Muslim, however, it can also consider their mistake, however, if we does consider it as a part of their mistakes it has to be biggest one.

Let us remind you, Khaled has been accused of travelling to Syria just to take part in the terror activities.

The terrorist has now been facing some series charges in Australia likes engaging in hostile activity in a foreign state, becoming a member of a terrorist organization, and supporting and advocating for terrorism.

Abu has also been named in the 2 terror plots in the nation. The prolific online supporter of ISIS had previously released several videos appealing to netizens to join the terror group.

Back in 2016, the terrorist had made quite huge headlines after he was wrongly assumed to be dead in an air strike by USA in Iraq, however, he had sustained some injuries but managed to survive.

For those who are unversed, let us tell you, Abu was sentenced to 7 years and a half by Turkish Court in 2017. However, as he has already served quite some time behind bars during his trial since his arrest in 2016, so his term was completed in February 2022.

Later, he was transferred to a detention centre as Australia and Fiji, both nation’s refused to give him citizenship. However, Khaled was deported back to Australia from Turkey last week.

Thereafter, he was arrested by Australian Federal Police by a joint investigation handled by Federal Police and Victoria Police and was sent to appear in front of the court in Darwin.

The court order his extradition to Victoria as the terrorist is now facing a trial in Magistrate Court of Melbourne.
