Late on Sunday night, senior lawyer Abhay Nath Yadav passed away. He was defending Anjuman Intezamia Masajid (AIM), the Gaynvapi mosque management committee, in the continuing battle over Gyanvapi in Varanasi sessions and district court. Yadav passed away in Varanasi’s Shuhbam hospital.

Who Was Abhay Nath Yadav?
Abhay Nath Yadav was a senior lawyer and was well-known for representing the Muslim side in the Gyanvapi dispute. He was recently in the news because he died recently.
He was married and had two daughters and one son in the family. At the time of his death, he was just 62 years old.
He was part of the Banaras Bar Association. He had been a lawyer for 35 years and served as the Anjuman Intejamiya Masajid Committee’s advocate for three of those years.
The Allahabad High Court had last week postponed the hearing of the case challenging the maintainability of a 1991 lawsuit filed by Hindu petitioners demanding the freedom to practice their religion until August 3.
According to sources, the Muslim side in the current Gyanvapi case was expected to respond on August 4, and Abhay Nath Yadav’s participation would have been essential.
His Death Cause
The report indicates that at about 10.30 pm, Abhay Nath Yadav’s condition quickly deteriorated.
He suffered a heart attack, and when he arrived at Trimurti Hospital on Maqbool Road by his family, the medical staff declared him dead. However, his family members then brought him to Varanasi’s Shubham Hospital, where the medical staff verified his demise.
Nityanand Rai, a senior member of the Banaras Bar Association, said that Abhay Nath Yadav suddenly passed away on Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. after suffering a serious heart attack. He was taken to Trimurti Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
According to several reports, his body was cremated today.
