i spoke to hax's mom, she thanked me for being a good friend towards aziz, he spoke of me often.
I asked cause of death… it was a "broken heart, he cried a lot towards the end, and most people didn't understand how much he loved being a gamer, it was his passion in life" :/

Al-Yami who was a Muslim by religion was born on May 7, 1994 and died on March 25, 2025 being based in Manhattan, New York.
Hax started his career as a young prodigy, having reached the top 8 at Genesis at only 15 years old and was recognized as one of the best Captain Falcon players in the world before switching his main to Fox where he’d continue to put up exceptional tops at Smash Melee majors.
The terminology “20XX” was first popularized by Hax himself and this meme suggested that Fox would eventually become the only viable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee once everyone progressed the meta enough to completely master the character.
Beyond his tournament accomplishments, Hax$ left a lasting legacy by shaping perceptions of the game’s strategies and gaming mechanics. Many players and fans express their condolences for his loss, which leaves a hole in the community. When Hax$ was a teenager, he began playing Super Smash Bros. Melee competitively.

Hax$ initially became well-known for playing the role of Captain Falcon while typically wearing the pink costume version. In an attempt to enhance his competitive performance, he shifted to portraying Fox as his main character in 2014. He gained a reputation as a powerful player in the Melee scene thanks to his precise mobility and technical proficiency.
When Hax$ suffered a calcified flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU) tendon on his wrist in 2016, it was a severe setback that forced him to take a vacation from competitive play. During this period, he worked on creating the B0XX, a custom controller designed to reduce player hand strain and damage.
This is how every melee top player acted towards Hax publicly when he was crying out for help. They made him into a meme. Don’t fall for these fake ass sympathy posts. All of them (except M2K) actually did nothing publicly with their platforms to help their “friend” Aziz. RIP pic.twitter.com/j0FO8NgQrF

He was able to return to competition thanks to this discovery, which also gave others who were having the same issue a remedy. His efforts to improve accessibility in the gaming world were demonstrated by his work on controller design.
In addition to his performances, Hax$ served the community by advancing technology and fostering conversations about shifting game strategy. He started discussions about how competitive Melee would evolve in the future by promoting the idea of “20XX,” the fictitious state in which players have perfected optimal performance.
Apart from that, his video reviews and in-depth examination of gameplay mechanics generated a lot of discussion among players and had an impact on high-level competitive decision-making and strategy.
Hax$ had been competing since 2008 as a Fox main, with him winning almost $40k in prize money before his ban.
