The 6.8 magnitude tragedy claimed the lives of fourteen-year-old Abdul Rahim Awhida’s mother, father, two brothers, and grandfather.

But the boy caught everyone’s attention when a video of his interview wearing a Real Madrid jersey went viral. Awhida revealed that he lost his family in the earthquake but will honour them by finishing his degree when speaking to Al Arabiya in the wake of the disaster.

Real Madrid called for the youngster to be found after the interview and offered to fly him to Spain so he could finish his education. Awhida, a devoted Real Madrid fan, wants to work as a teacher and a doctor. According to reports, Los Blancos got in touch with the boy through his uncle and made plans to fly him to Spain.
