Last week, Mohammed Saleem, Abdul’s father, received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped by drug sellers in Cleveland. Additionally, he threatened to sell the student’s kidney to the mafia if the ransom was not paid, according to the family.

Authorities described Abdul as wearing a white T-shirt, red jacket, and blue jeans. In an attempt to aid in the search for Abdul, the family contacted the Indian Council in Chicago for assistance.

This incident closely follows another tragedy involving an Indian student in the US. Abhijeeth Paruchuru, a 20-year-old engineering student in Boston, was found dead in a car in a forest. However, initial investigations by the Consulate General of India in New York found no signs of foul play, despite this being the ninth such incident in less than three months.
