The 19-year-old has drawn comparisons to Dutch icon Clarence Seedorf ever since making his Premier League debut in November 2023.

Kobbie Mainoo parents and family roots
Both of Kobbie Mainoo’s parents, Felix Mainoo and Abena Herold have played very supportive roles towards Kobbie and his career. Felix and Abena were both immigrants from Ghana who met in in England and grew close before marrying each other. Following their marriage, the pair gave birth to two daughters, and a son before welcoming Kobbie.
Sadly, Abena and Felix underwent a divorce but continued to support Kobbie and his football career. Felix in particular, was a very supportive father who played a major role in his son’s early development as a footballer while growing up. He made sure that Kobbie received the best training and helped him join the United Academy.
Kobbie is single and unmarried.

Kobbie Mainoo has three other older siblings, including two sisters named Efia and Ama, and a brother named Jordan. While Efia currently runs a business located in Manchester, his other sister Ama studied Sports Business management. Interestingly, Kobbie’s brother Jordan Mainoo James is a famous model who has collaborated with brands like Vogue, Louis Vuitton, etc, in the past.
Interestingly, before his modelling career, Jordan played football for clubs like Manchester City and Rochdale before cutting short his career due to a series of injuries. In spite of facing such hardships, Jordan Mainoo overcame all odds in his new career and even starred in the hit UK reality TV show Love Island, back in 2019.
During his stint on the show, James established a romantic connection with another contestant, Anna Vakili. However, he eventually got eliminated via a public vote. Notably, Kobbie Mainoo earned the nickname of ‘Love Island’ at his club due to his brother’s links to the show.
