The parents of outstanding Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, Chris and Melissa Hutchinson, are a key part of NBC’s Thursday Night Football coverage as a mic’ed up portion during the game
In the NFL’s season-opener, his family played a starring role. Meanwhile, know more about the couple that helped develop Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson into one of football’s most feared and relentless pass-rushers as Melissa and Chris make their NFL debut at Arrowhead Stadium.
Who are the parents of Aidan Hutchinson, family, mom, dad and sister name
NBC wasn’t satisfied with the season-opening game between the defending Super Bowl winners and one of the league’s most intriguing young teams. Even the presence of the greatest quarterback in history, two highly regarded but very different head coaches, and numerous young players on both sides of the ball didn’t seem to pique the interest of a sizable football audience.
Until Chris and Melissa Hutchinson, Aiden Hutchinson’s parents, enter.
That was the choice made by NBC for the highly anticipated matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions on Thursday night. The older Hutchinson was mic’d up for the duration of the telecast.
Who Are Aiden’s Parents- Melissa and Chris Hutchinson?
Melissa Hutchinson
Aiden and his sisters Mia and Aria were raised by Melissa and Chris Hutchinson in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit that is roughly 15 minutes away. Even before they were married and had children, the couple had strong ties to the Great Lakes State after witnessing their son being selected No. 2 overall by the local Lions in 2016.
In 1988, Melissa Hutchinson, then Sinkevics, was named Michigan Teen USA. She went to the same Dearborn school, Divine Child, from which Aidan graduated in 2018 before transferring his skills to the nearby University of Michigan.
Chris Hutchinson
Chris Hutchinson first established the Hutchinson name as a household name in maize and blue before his son Aidan went on to become one of the greatest players in Wolverine history.
After redshirting as a freshman in 1988, Chris Hutchinson made a name for himself as a standout rookie defensive lineman for famous coach Bo Schembechler, starting every game at defensive tackle.
In each of the following three seasons, he was a mainstay for the Wolverines, twice being named to the First Team All-Big 10 and finishing his career with 24 sacks, the fourth-most in school history.
In 1993, Hutchinson became an undrafted free agent and signed with the Cleveland Browns, but he soon gave up playing football.
What Are Melissa and Chris Hutchinson Doing Now?
Melissa Hutchinson works as a photographer. Meanwhile, her husband is a doctor who treats patients in emergency rooms in Royal Oak, Michigan.
The Hutchinsons have never held back from showering their son with love and support, as shown by their prominent position in Thursday’s programme.
Aidan Hutchinson said to the AP last year, “With my parents, they’ve been my support system from Day 1, and having them at my back is so beneficial for me and my whole career.”
