Who is Amir Ibragimov?
Amir Ibragimov is a Manchester United forward, was born on April 2, 2008 in Dagestan, Russia. The 16-year-old was born in Russia and has previously represented England at the youth international level.
A look at Amir Ibragimov’s career so far
Ibragimov relocated to England from Russia when he was eleven years old. He later transferred to Manchester United, where he led both the under-14 and under-15 teams during his advancement through the academy.
Ibragimov earned a penalty for Manchester United’s under-15 team against Tottenham in March 2022 after dribbling into the Tottenham penalty area. However, because he did not feel he had been fouled, he passed the following penalty into the Tottenham goalkeeper’s hands, a gesture that drew widespread notice.
In August 2022, he signed his first contract, a pre-scholarship deal, with the club. On January 21, 2023, after scoring for Manchester United’s under-16 squad in a 1-0 win over Liverpool’s under-16s, he played for Manchester United’s under-18 team on the same day, contributing to a 3-2 victory over Liverpool.
He first trained with the Manchester United first team in April 2023. Talking about his international career, he is able to represent both Russia and England because he was born there and has lived there since the age of eleven. He made his England under-15 debut in a 3-2 victory over Belgium in February 2023. He remains qualified to represent Russia.
Amir Ibragimov’s family
Ibragimov was born in a Muslim Avar family in Dagestan, Russia. His family relocated to England when he was eleven years old, and he began his career with Sheffield United’s academy.
His older brother, Ibrahim, is a professional MMA fighter, while his youngest brother, Mo, joined from Manchester City in Summer 2023, and younger brother Gazik, plays football for Manchester United’s youth squad.
Gazir and Muhammad, Amir’s two younger brothers, also play for Manchester United.
Amir’s godfather, Jonny Hansen, was a professional footballer who competed in the Norwegian leagues.
