Brother Manuel Ministries (BMM)

Brother Manuel Ministries (BMM) is an evangelist group, which was founded three decades ago, by a man named Manuel Mergulhao. Manuel was a resident of Bandra, and the group currently has its offices located on Waroda Road, in Bandra. According to the group’s website, their mission is ‘to win souls through the healing message of Jesus Christ’.

The website also states how one of its principles is to:

use every modern means available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.’

Besides hosting religious ministries, their beliefs are mainly based on a fundamental reading of the Bible and Jesus Christ alone. Most of their services also involve singing the gospels and dancing in an informal way, which attracts people. Moreover, the group does not advertise healing as one of their main services, as such claims can attract prosecution from the law.

None of us went inside (the meetings). So how do we know what was happening inside? We are basically a sports club and not a watchdog. We took action when we knew about it.”
