The victims of the Monterey, California plane crash have now been identified

In the midst of the plane crash in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Monterey, NTSB officials were headed towards the California to identify the three people who tragically lost their lives in the crash.

As per the counts given by the U.S. Coast Guard, the twin engine Beechcraft took off late Saturday night from the San Carlos Airport with the late three people on board.

A small plane crashed near a California lighthouse shortly after takeoff on Sunday and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in turn, identified the plane as a twin-engine Beechcraft B-55 Baron.

The Coast Guard’s Monterey station was informed 10:55 pm Saturday that the Beechcraft crashed about 200 to 300 yards offshore and the incident took place near the iconic Point Linos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove.

In light of the incident connected to Beechcraft with tail number N8796R, Station Monterey launched a 29-ft Response Boat-Small crew and authorities arrived at the scene approximately 15 minutes after being alerted of the situation.

As per the media reports, the Sheriff’s office of Monterey County has identified the 3 people who lost their life. As per the Sheriff’s office the people, who lost their lives were identified as a 60-year-old Steve Eugene Clatterbuck, 44-year-old Lee Tabscott, and 36-year-old James Vincent. Reportedly all three of them were the residents of Monterey.

Vincent, 36, was the owner of Aquarius Dive Shop on Del Monte Avenue in Monterey and was also owner of the plane that crashed, a Beechcraft Baron with the tail number N8796R, registered under the corporate name Sea2Sky Aviation LLC and radar tracking indicates it could have been caused by pilot disorientation.

According to online flight records, the plane, which was manufactured in 1974 and could carry up to 6 passengers and crew, was en route from San Carlos Airport in the San Francisco Bay area to Monterey airport when it crashed just after 10:30 p.m.

What Exactly Happened?

As per reports, the small plane with only three people on board crashed at about 10.40 p.m. on Saturday night at the coast off the Pacific Grove, wherein a search mission is being carried out. Reportedly, the crash took place approximately 200-300 yards from Point Pinos, as counts given by the guards.

One of the guards at the coast explained that the plane circling low. He also revealed that at time the incident happened at least 30 people were present at the beach, who heard the same thing.

Officials Reportedly several agencies and investigators including the County Sheriff’s office searched overnight for the debris or the potential survival in the ocean.

Did The Authorities Find the Victims?

As per reports, the officials found the first victim unresponsive in the water. The victim was found by a crew member. This discovery take place on Sunday at 3.8 a.m.

The other two victims were discovered a fire drone just before 6.00 a.m. in the fuselage in a still condition. Later, divers recovered the first body at 6.30 a.m. and the other two at about 9.08 a.m. As per the official statement released by the Coast Guards, the authorities covered at least 100 square miles during the entire search event.

Videos of the incident are now swirling around the internet, featuring parts of plane and its wheel being washed away on the shore.
