Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story recounts the infamous deeds of Jeffrey, who’s a Milwaukee cannibal. The story also explores parts of his childhood and the relationship he had with his parents.

Who Are Jeffrey Dahmer’s Parents?
Jeffrey Dahmer’s parents were Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. The duo welcomed their first child Jeffrey on May 21, 1960 and had their second son, David later in December 1966.
Dahmer’s father, Lionel, was a chemistry student during the early years of Dahmer’s life. He was away from his home for a large period of time as he was studying for a PhD.
After earning a degree of doctorate, their family moved to Ohio where Lionel started working as a research chemist.
When Lionel was at home, he taught his son, Jeffrey how to preserve animal bones, believing that his son was taking in the scientific aspect of studying the animals.
Meanwhile, in Jeffrey’s childhood, his mother Joyce, worked as a teletype machine instructor. However she was reported to have suffered from several mental health issues including depression and she is even known to have attempted suicide.
In the year 1978, it appeared that Joyce had engaged in an affair a year earlier, so She and Lionel got divorce when Jeffrey was 18-year-old.
What Happened to Lionel Dahmer?
As of 2022, Jeffrey’s father Lionel is still alive and he is currently 86 years old. After divorcing his wife Joyce, he went on and married for another time to Shari Jordan, who subsequently became Jeffrey and David’s stepmother.
In the year 1994, Lionel published a book entitled “A Father’s Story.” In the book he wrote his thoughts about Jeffrey’s deeds and donated a portion of the earnings to the families of Jeffrey’s victims.
Lionel, who’s now retired, lives in Ohio with his second wife Shari. He has kept his life out of the public eye since 2020.
What Happened to Joyce Dahmer?
Joyce, after divorcing with Lionel, went by her maiden name Flint, died at the age of 64 on November 27, 2000, after battling from breast cancer.
After divorcing Jeffrey’s father, Flint moved with their son David to Fresno, California. There she started working in several jobs, notably as manager of a retirement home in the 1980s.
However, In the year 1991, She changed her profession and went on to manage the Central Valley Aids Team. At the team she started helping to combat the spread of HIV and Aids.
