One such sharp-eyed Twitter user shared a screenshot of a Whitepages.com search result that purportedly listed Jeffrey as the father of Xana, who was allegedly detained by the Idaho Department of Corrections before his release in 2004.

Twitter user @UofIdahoFamily tweeted, “#UniversityOfIdaho Family: Jeffrey, father of deceased Ms Kernodle, did some time back in ’04, Idaho Corrections. Listed alongside “Cara,” who uses alias and displays the same Avondale, Arizona address as Jeff (and is deceased), Xana’s mother, who was also detained before being freed in 2015, was repeatedly depicted in the screenshot, the user claimed.

An earlier post in a related Twitter thread purportedly showed Xana’s mother Cara being detained on drug charges and contained a screenshot from the Kootenai County Jail in Idaho’s current inmate list, which was made public by another user. “Is someone going to mention that Xana Kernodle’s mother, Cara, was arrested on 19th November? She was charged with drug possession and is being held on a 50,000 bond. That’s a pretty stiff bond and happens so close to the death of Xana and the roommates to not be relevant.” the user wrote.

Xana’s Father’s Statement On Her Death

On November 13, Xana, 20, her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, and friends Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, both 21, were found dead from stab wounds on the second and third floors of an off-campus housing unit in Moscow, Idaho. In a later interview with CBS 5, Xana’s father, Jeffrey Kernodle, said that the bruises on her body were evidence that she had been defending herself from her attacker.

He said, “Bruises, torn by the knife.” When asked about their final chat, he remembered, “I think we last heard from her at midnight, and she was OK,” when asked about their last interaction with her daughter.

She didn’t really bother about the drama and whatnot, said Xana’s father, who also praised his daughter as a strong and responsible woman. That was never her thing. All she wanted was to have fun. Never about materialistic things,” said Jeff, adding that he was impressed by the connection between her kid and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin.

“When I went there, I had only seen her a week prior, and she had undergone significant transformation and had a life of her own. This gave her the opportunity to experience what it was like to live with her boyfriend. She then made a complete spin. She was really accountable. helping him with their homework and other things. I must say, I was impressed with her change,” he said.
