What was the reason behind the crash?

The training aircraft is IGRAU property (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi). IGRAU Administrative Officer Satya Kumar informed PTI in Gondia that it crashed into the hills near Bhukkutola hamlet in the Balaghat district at around 3:30 pm, killing a flight training captain and a female trainee.

At around three o’clock in the afternoon, the training plane piloted by flight instructor captain Mohit departed from the Birsi airstrip for a normal sortie. According to reports, it crashed in the hills close to Bhukkutola hamlet as a result of terrible weather.

“Captain Mohit and the student pilot’s bodies were severely burned in the aircraft fire. A fire-fighting squad, a rescue team from Birsi, and other concerned officials all hurried to the scene as soon as they received the information,” he continued. According to Kumar, the villagers were the first to arrive at the scene and they were able to locate the aeroplane wreckage on the hills.
