In a shocking incident in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, two children, Ayush (13) and Honey (6), were brutally hacked to death allegedly by a local barber named Sajid. The victims’ father, Vinod Singh, is a contractor, while their mother, Sangeeta, owns a beauty parlour.

The horrific incident took place when Vinod Singh was away at the market, and his wife was at her beauty parlour. Ayush Thakur (13) and Ahan Thakur aka Honey (6), were at home with their paternal grandmother when Sajid entered the house around 7:30 pm.
Sajid reportedly made his way to the third floor of the home, where the two boys and their eight-year-old brother Piyush Thakur were playing. He cut the boys’ necks as he attacked them with a knife. Piyush, who sustained minor injuries, managed to escape and alert the rest of the family.
In an alleged police encounter, barber Mohammad Sajid of Badaun aged 22 was slain around two hours after the crimes. Sajid opened fire on the police squad following him, and that’s when he was shot dead, according to UP Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar. Sajid’s father and uncle have since been arrested with his mother justifiying her son’s killing by the police. Sajid’s wife has denied being pregnant as is being claimed.
The police swung into action when they learned that the accused had escaped and fired at the police during the pursuit, leading to his death.
The motive behind Sajid’s brutal act remains unclear. The victims’ father revealed in the FIR that Sajid had approached his wife, claiming he needed money as his wife was about to deliver a child. When she went inside to get the money, Sajid took the boys to the terrace, along with his brother Javed. He then attacked the boys, and he reportedly said, “Today he had completed his work.”
According to the deceased’s father, there were two people engaged in the murder namely Sajid and Mhd Javed, and they are still unsure of the circumstances behind the occurrence.
Locals were protesting the horrific double murder, and the Baba Colony, which is close to the Mandi Samiti outpost, was under intense police guard.
